Look at that! Twelve months since last I wrote.
Unfortunately Stan has been forced to stop his carpentry work due to continual back and leg pain. As the specialists have said "You might mow the lawn or do something similar one day, but you will pay for it a day or two later". Of course that hasn't stopped him completely, but try as he might, Stan has yet to prove the specialists wrong.
He still tackles a lot of jobs around home, but at a much slower pace and with lots of breaks during the task, and another dose of Panadol! (Wish I had shares in Panadol). Generally he is extremely frustrated at the things he just did automatically and can no longer consider doing, but at least he is still on his feet.
We now have gates between Mark Howard's hangar and our hangar and a fence along part of McLean's boundary as required by the Council.
During November 2011 our eldest son Alex made good use of our trike and hangar and obtained his Pilot Certificate after several week's training with Peter McLean.
Alex now has his Passenger Endorsement but yet to take us flying.
We have enjoyed Yarrawonga for several weeks over Christmas and many weekends during the year and hope to continue in 2012.

We had a heap of things like an extra fridge, bikes, bed base, barbecue etc that we couldn't fit in back of 4WD, so we hired a trailer for 24 hours and did a quick trip. Worked out really well. Even brought up Mum's electric scooter.
Interlux at Berwick made our vertical blinds in kitchen, and roller blinds in our bedroom and upstairs. Stan put them all up without any problems.
All vanities same colour, creamy doors and a mottley brown laminex top, hand basins and taps all the same. Very pleased with them all. This one in our ensuite toilet area.
Our vanities were made by Danish Kitchens of Narre Warren. They packed them all on their trailer and we towed them to Yarrawonga, unpacked, and they were installed over a few weeks.
Kitchen just works really well. Had trouble getting a bright picture, but the room generally is really bright with natural light. Pale green cupboard fronts (Snowgum is the colour) with grey/green tops. A induction cooker quickly required Stan to install a rangehood. We presently don't require overhead cupboards, but can add them later if needed. Really pleased with it all.
We just love the end result. Under the stairs, we have the fridge, wall oven, and lots of drawers and storage space.
This mess of boxes is our kitchen cupboards from Impala. Glad we didn't have to sort them out, but of course the expert made short work of it.
Our downstairs floor is coated with Granicrete, which is a trowelled on surface, sealed with a Flexithane, a high-gloss surface. We have also used it on the shower walls and bases.
Wow! Looks terrific. From left, cupboard to keep flying gear, laundry trough, laundry cupboard, entry to downstairs, and the stairs up go off to the right of glass door, hidden by the Weathertex wall.
They were rewarded by sharing our lovely Easter sunshine.
My brother Barrie Cousin and his wife Margaret painted a lot of the Weathertex boards for us. Here they are lined up drying on the hangar floor.
The external/internal cladding of the frame was Weathertex, painted grey prior to fixing over insulation. This taken prior to the need for scaffolding.
We are very pleased with the look of the new window on the outside.

Luke Brennan came and saved our bacon - or should I say septic tank. We had to get the electrical pump connected for the contents of the septic tank to pump out into the passing sewer. Not before time.
Yes, we still have our trike. During that week it actually made it out of the hangar for one flight over the empty Lake.
Did I tell you it was cold? In case you can't read our sign, it says "Welcome to Mawson Base Camp".

And yes, the pipes are connected to outside water, which actually comes into the hangar between our bedroom windows. Not sure if that will be a bad place or not?

And talk about a fancy cactus tree which will be concealed in the wall between hangar toilet and shower.

Debbie, Jane and Peter Russo - you cannot believe how cold it was during their time at Yarrawonga. Their son Tim was the lucky one - at home with the heater.

- Happily married to Stan for nearly 40 years. Two adult sons. Majority of my working life has been in the Newspaper industry as a typesetter and more recently typesetter/receptionist. I type fairly accurately at 80 to 100 words per minute and enjoy typing books. I love using my computer and with retirement in the future I looked around for something to keep me active using my computer and which might bring me in a few more dollars each week. Internet Marketing seems to be the ideal way to go - but I'm still searching for my elusive first dollar.
